Welcome to Quiet Gardens in Leicestershire, affiliated to the Quiet Gardens Trust.
The season runs each year from May to September.
Following the vision of the Quiet Garden Trust, which began in 1992 and has since spread worldwide, our aim in Leicestershire is to offer an experience of spiritual renewal under the abundance of God’s love. This takes place within the beauty of a garden and is open to those of any faith or none. Guests are given the opportunity to experience a day of gentle retreat, with a leader providing optional guidance for personal reflection on a theme. You can use the ideas as you wish, simply walking, sitting, sleeping, painting or writing as you choose.
There are on average 18-20 such days each year. Most days start at 10am with coffee and finish at 4pm, concluding with a short act of Christian worship. Silence is kept throughout the day, with the exception of morning coffee and some lunches.
Unless at Mount St Bernard’s Abbey or Hothorpe Hall, events are hosted at private gardens within Leicestershire.
Cost: a voluntary donation of £6 per person is suggested for private venues and guests should bring a packed lunch. Drinks will be provided. Set charges for other venues are as follows: Mount St Bernard’s Abbey – £10 (tea and coffee only served), Hothorpe Hall – £20 with soup lunch.
To Book: Visit the Events Page and use the Contact Link for all bookings. Numbers in brackets after the venue indicates the maximum number that can be accommodated. Venues marked with a (D) may present difficulties for some disabled people. Include any questions about this when you make contact.
Please note: We have no facilities to accept credit/debit cards – cash or cheques only please at all venues.
Booking cancellation: If you are unable to come to the day for any reason, please let the host know via the Contact Page. Some venues are over-subscribed and someone else may be waiting for a place, even at the last minute.
